I agree. He is like a lot of other supervisors and deputies gun shy. The admin from the Major down to captain have forgotten what it is like to be out there on the beat. Its easy to take a desicion which was made in a split second and take as long as they want to twist it and monday morning quarterback it. I wonder if the Sheriff truely knows what is going on. Maybe she does and she condons it may she doesnt. Either way, she is losing a lot of votes come 2012. I feel bad for Lt.'s and sgts. They are walking on a cracked icy lake just waiting on the crack to give way. All I know is I hope the Major is ready for retirement or a new job. He is a snake in the grass

Do not judge the man now. Any person put into a position to supervise under the most micro managing administration could not make adequate decisions. Each of the Sgt’s decisions are managed and scrutinized to the point that they may say “Why make a decision, it will be wrong anyways.” I do not think he made the K-9 Sgt position on his own and put himself there. Look way beyond the line supervisors and there you will find the problem.
The person you are talking about is a good supervisor, but like most is just trying to keep his job. We bottom feeders do not need to prey on the small fish. It is the big fish causing the problems that effect us.

Oh, him?

He is responsible for saying stuff like "let me check on that for you" and "I will look into that." Also, don't forget the "I'm not really sure" and "...I'll ask the Captain and let you know"

Good guy, but I hope you never need a quick answer from him, or even worse- a decision under pressure. It's frustrating.

So what exactly does the K9 Sgt do? Haven't found anyone who can say what he does.
