Anyone know whats going on with the promotional committee?? It has been a few months and no one has heard a word. Quite a few people are anxiously waiting to see what the new process is going to be.

We will have to wait and see how the command staff and the PBA communicate and work things out. Make no mistake, we need change. We all know the current process is a complete joke and it makes you wonder how the past Chief and command staff let the it happen. They should have seen what was going to happen when you promote people on how they take a test and not on their proven work history. I'd like to see resuults of the survey sgt. forth put out. I bet its interesting.

In January 2010, prior to the promotional list 4 people (PD, CH, EB AND SM) were all receiving acting Lt salary. Two people were promoted that means two positions were eliminated. If 2 Lt positions are eliminated it automatically eliminates 2 Sgts. positions. Do you really work here?

What difference does it make we are not promoting people from the current list. Wake up people they just got rid of two Lt's and two Sgt's positions.

The biggest hurdle here will be the union. The PBA will have to agree to whatever the proposed changes will be. I have heard that in the past regarding promotional testing changes, they have made decisions for everyone without giving them a chance to vote or even be made aware that changes were being discussed. That is ridiculous. The PBA is supposed to represent the men and women of the agency. Not speak on their behalf without their consent. The promotional process not only needs changes, it needs to be completely overhauled. The PBA had better be on board with this and realize that nearly everyone wants the process changed.

I guess we will have to see. I am not sure y they would put out a survey if they did not have a desire to change the process. And the PBA signed off on the survey to. So it looks like some changes will take place. Lets just hope they are they changes that everyone wants and not ridiculous ones like the ones that were made last time. Verbal resume????? give me a break.

So what seems to be the overall impression of the promotional survey that has just been sent out?? You think they really will change the process or is this just a bunch of smoke and mirrors? I hope they, command staff and PBA, are both on board because there is a major change needed. Our current process sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
