Are you currently short handed? How short? What is the length of the process? Anything you would say good or bad about PPD?

The best person to contact with be our background investigator Ofc. Joe Alu at 954-797-2118.
He can fill you in about how many we are hiring and the process.
We just ratified our 2006-2009 contract which puts our pay and benefits comparable to the surrounding agencies.
The PD just moved into a new building and we are supposed to get computers in our patrol vehicles this year
We have approx 190 officers and many units but it can take a little while to transfer or get promoted because alot of people do not leave.
All officers get a in county take home. The PD only issues uniforms/vest, you have to buy everything else (gub, belt, etc)
Overall, I would say everyone is happy
If you need more info about the PD, go to www.psd.plantation.org (http://www.psd.plantation.org)

We just ratified our contract that will put us back behind everyone when they get their next one.
We have a new building, but you won't be there. You will be in a 5 year old car with 100,000 miles. We were promised computers in our cars 5 years ago...
The PD gives you about nothing, you have to equip yourself, including your gub
