Big Box Bums on 64

The big box store on 64 e. of the interstate harbors bums. One followed me from the pkg. lot & into the store, stalking me! No security/no mgr. in sight. I hung near the pharmacy window for safety. That was 2 mos. ago & I kept away from that store, til today. Another bum eyeballed my clutch purse & made a move toward me in the pkg. lot. Again no security/no mgr. in sight. I hate that effing store for making women feel scared to shop there.

I reported this to a store mgr. when I got home. He was uninterested, saying it’s not the store’s fault, but the sheriff’s fault. BULLSHYTE. Both incidents occurred on their store grounds.

Never again will I shop there. I hope the bums swipe their wine & pizz in their aisles.

I’m still steamed so here goes. It took a half hour to reach someone in authority at the Big Box Store by phone. I asked to speak with their security person, the answer: “I don’t think no one is in today.” Three more phone calls, each one dropped by their crack customer service team. Then I finally got an ass’t mgt putz who was amazed that I had a security issue as “there haven’t been any adverse incidents at this store.” An effing lie if I ever heard one. And the next time some dumb blonde hands money to Mr.-Will-Work-For-Food on the corner, maybe he'll reach into her car, grab her purse & teach her a lesson.

Any given day you can find 3 or 4 of them with their sign on 64, first light in from I 75. These guys tag team, taking turns at the intersection. MSO guys correct me if I'm wrong and something has changed in the past five years, isn't panhandling a criminal violation. Same thing happens all around major restaurant and comercial areas around Manatee County. I know you guys ary busy but it doesn't take much to run these guys off.

Its absolutely a Crime, however with that said the SAO has said dont make ANY arrests because they will NOT prosecute the charge. :?

The Sheriff’s Office has tried to reduce the transients and at times the deputies went beyond their authority. The bottom line, we have been told that the Florida Statutes do not apply to these homeless collecting money.

There are two things you and the rest of the County Residence can do to help us and yourself. First, do not give them money. They are making more tax free dollars this time of the year then the average residence. That money pays for their crack cocaine and alcohol. Second, call the County Commissioners office and speak your mind. Let them know your fears and complaints. For the past year the Commissioners have been working on a County Ordinance to stop the loitering and panhandling. We have not heard anything lately.

As for the deputies, they know the problem and do keep an eye on them as much as they can. These transients know we have no authority to tell them to leave and are not threatened by us.

Try working in the courthouse...........they are everywhere and like to use our bushes as a public toilet. We have to walk past the stench every day to get into the employee entrance. Not to mention what they have done to the new parking garage. One of them even took a piss in the elevator.

I must say that it's a disgrace that this county is so piss poor, that they have yet to enact an ordinance to deal with these parasites. So many avenues have been explored by multiple Deputies to try and solve this problem. The unfortunate thing is this, property owners allow these fuggers to camp on their property and don't want to become involved, lest they might have to take some time out of their "precious" schedule to prosecute these fuggers for trespass.

Secondly, why are we as cops allowing the SAO stop us from making arrests on these pieces of shyt that are breaking the law. COPS enforce laws, SAO's prosecute them. If they don't want to prosecute, why the fugg are they in that position? FUGG the SAO and that BS.

Thirdly, how inept must a person be to not notice these "so-called" homeless fuggers out there everyday making money. Obviously it's lucrative or they wouldn't be out there day after day, so why continue to give them money?(Do gooders with no knowledge really burn my arse) These bastados make $200-$300 a day at the Outlet Mall exit and pay absolutely no taxes. Now that's fugged up! Hell, I'd like to make $60k a year tax free, while I drink beer and smoke cigarettes all day.

You might think I'm exaggerating about the money they make, but I'm not. I saw one of those fuggers with a handful of $20's (more than 10) one day counting them. When I saw that, I thought to myself "hmmm, is it the first of the month did he just get a goverment check?", Nope, it was the middle of the month!

Sad, but true! These parasites will continue to thrive financially, until one of those fuggers hurt the loved one of someone prominent. Then, maybe just then, the county will enact an ordinance, the Sheriff's Office will arrest and the SAO will prosecute these sorry pieces of shyt that call themselves "HOMELESS".

I'm giving up working s-15's. For now on I'm going out on the corner on my days off. I'm going to make me some real money. :lol:

They look like an organized drug crime ring to me. I’ve seen the team assemble at the gully in front of the motel/gas stations on 64 east of the Big Box Store. Their scout does bicycle recon. When I left the store yesterday, an MSO cruiser slid by. What did the bum-druggie do? He took a seat in the covered bus shelter adjacent to the store’s garden center. I told that to the Box Store’s mgr. who said: “They have every right to be in public areas.” I blistered the mgr’s ear about making a comfortable environment for the drug bums to loiter on store grounds, so that they can run to the bus shelter to play cat-n-mouse with the police. “Well,” said puke-face mgr., “you can request a store escort to your car if you don’t feel safe.” Grrrrr. Said I, “How about if you have visible security on the grounds so I can get into the store without being accosted?” That’s when he launched into a denial of the situation, saying he knew of no problems at the store, and even if there were any, it was all the sheriff’s fault.

Target at the Interstate & University Pkwy. doesn’t have this problem. Shop there!

The median is considered the roadway. So when they tell you my sign isn't soliciting, who cares what your sign says, you are standing in the road. We then play the your safety is an issue get out of the road game. According to code enforcement, I was told they must have a permit, this includes the two that you see with buckets from the church. I have given a list to code enforcement of camps and they have closed a few west side. Send me addresses of property you have concerns with and I will forward it (homeless guru at D2). Property owners are going to be held accountable for the "waste" on their property or be cited. As far as the citizens, this is why we are not to feed the alligators, they start to depend on you and then they eat your dog (steal your purse). If you want to help the homeless or less fortunate give those extra dollars to the church or salvation army. Do a ride along and asked to see a homeless camp, We will show you where your money goes. If you recycle cans visit a homeless camp, bring a u-haul. Please as said earlier help us out and keep writting the county commissioners.

How about a vacant 5-acre lot -- SR70 across from Myakka fire station? Some illegal vendors there are decent and sell good stuff like hay, but lately some real skanks have moved in on the action. They sell shyte from the trunks of their cars (with small children in tow.) It looks like an open air drug market on that corner, their clientele seems to know when to score. Fast ‘n’ furious, in ‘n’ out.

Just like with everything else, the spineless state attorneys of Manatee County will not help us out by prosecuting the scum of this county. All the SAO is good for in Manatee County is sending out "decline to file" letters. We can make all the arrests and strong cases we want, but what good is it if the SAO is to lazy and scared to do their job. :evil:

In the MOC's there are a few deputies that had complaints filed against them for handling the transients. It appears that the "BUMS" have discovered that they can call in complaints because the deputies are telling them to get out of the roadway and in one complaint to leave the county (way to go Sgt. Bill).

Deputies are trying and no they are not violating peoples rights. They are protecting the people of Manatee who want to go to the stores or stop at the red lights without feeling like they are going to be attacked.

The SAO in this County is an absolute insult to us all. Most of this Countys crime problems are a result of the BG's knowing that the SAO is not interested in prosecuting anything. If the taxpayers actually understood this they would be down there wanting their heads!
