part time

It is so difficult to recruit and keep enough officers on the street. There are plenty of reasons for this including pay, internal strife, etc. To generate some ideas to combat this, I'll toss one out. What do you think about the idea of establishing a reserve or part time program similiar to Polk County or Tampa's?

This wouldnt be a bad idea, however I think the salary increase and pension reduction would be more beneficial to keeping officers, as well as help in hiring new officers.

They can't have part time position and be able to fill full time position. They can't explain needing more full time officer's, if the part time officer's are taking up slots.
