Can anyone advise what web sites are "inappropriate" for purposes of rules and regs? Cuz an awful lot of people have been getting like 5 day suspensions for doing just that while at work here. I tend to see the follow up violation of "You were unable to be effective and efficient in your assigned duties when you spent the majority of your shift on inappropriate websites." So I guess this meant more than a few minutes.

#1 Can anyone advise what websites people are getting in trouble for going to????

#2 Can anyone advise what amount of time is deemed "majority of your shift"????

People are going to porn sites. That is why they are getting flagged. Also, dont go to websites that have chicks in bathing suits and lingerie these sites will get you flagged. Stay out of chat rooms.

Do your job, stay off websites that aren't job related while you are working, and you should be fine.

Dear 10-6Niner, shut the **** up. No one was asking you for your highly moral opinion of this job or how to do it you jackass. I want to know if there are sites other than porn that are getting people 5 day suspensions. So thank you and shut the **** you retard.

Dude you are a complete and utter moron. You come in he and spout off about everything and anything likeyou know something and you dont know crap. The original post was a valid post with a topic I'm interested in. No one needs you to tell them t do their job you dumb azz. Most of us get it that you dont goto to porn siteson duty, as seen by the multitude of suspensions given out. What is not clear, with no help from you, is what "other" sites may be deemed inappropriate. Is that too much to ask about? Moron. If anyone else may know, please advise. 10-69er just STFU youre an asshole.

Go down and read the IA cases this should give you an idea what they mean. It was also mentioned to the major, that inappropriate websites should be clarified. 98 rock and the 620wdae are not porn sites, but they half dress women. This could be a red flag.

12-01-2006, 09:01 PM
anyone that listens to those jackass' on 620 (sileo, diaz, beckles, duemig etc...) should be suspended just for that reason alone :D

12-02-2006, 12:16 AM
I learned a lot about hockey from listening to Duemig. Sileo is not a good talk show host. He jumps around to much with different topics and nevers goes back to a topic after he comes out of commerical break.

12-02-2006, 01:09 AM
duemig, rome and gruden all have one thing in common...ego maniac a-holes. if the word "situation" didn't exist, duemig could'nt do a talk show...he's a low rent dumbass proving that even people like him can achieve right place/right time.

its easy, tensixniner is right. if its a site that you would hide if the capt were to walk on your wing then that should be a clue. i hear chatrooms and joke sites (ebaums) are being flagged too. if you cant justify it then dont do it.

Generally, I think you're right Ten6Niner. But if you aren't the only person using the agency computer in an office setting it gets more complicated. You have to be logged on the whole shift to do your job and there is only one computer for two, three and sometimes four different officers. If one dipsh1t officer decides he wants to surf porn, the officer that is logged on is responsible.

Ok, you tards cannot read a post clearly enough. If any of you have been suspended for going to inappropriate sites, other than porn sites, can you please advise what you got gigged for??? Lt. Ingold can you advise if there are sites, other than porn that will get us in trouble??? Simple question.

12-04-2006, 07:56 PM
Ask the guys that got suspended. They're home with nothing to do.

wow we are the tards? hmm innappropriate would be safe to assume not work related? if you cant figure that out then there is no hope for you as it is.

OK, Panda Licker (disturbing name, by the way). Any site, including porn sites that are not related to YOUR JOB may get you into trouble. If you are watching a video of a guy farting and trying to light it, it's probably not related to YOUR JOB, so you shouldn't be on that site. If you are checking your personal e-mail to see if your hoochie got your last e-mail, it's not related to YOUR JOB and you shouldn't be on that site. If you are shopping for super cool games for the console you slept outside of Target to buy, it's not related to YOUR JOB and you shouldn't be on that site.

As you may have noticed, YOUR JOB frequently popped up in this post, and you may want to concentrate on doing YOUR JOB while on duty and YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE A PROBLEM!

Dear **** head,

For the upteenth time, I'm not sking you for your opinion. You have given it. I get it. Do your job. Well said. I'm sure I have doen this job longer and harder than you ever will or could. Youre on this board and many other local boards giving your self righteous non-solicited opinions on everything. You don't know me, you don't know what I do, how I do it or where in this agency. You, I'd guess jail, easy pod, control booth. Just a guess. I have asked a simple question, one that you don't have the real answer for. You have a smart azz comment and a semi-quick witted reply. But you don't know the answer. So again, STFU. I simply would like to know, from someone who has actual knowledge, if anyone has gotten into trouble for going to websites, other than porn, while working. That could be ESPN.com, baynews9.com, weather.com, do they have anything to do with your JOB 10-69er?? But the recent rash of suspensions have been for accessing "innapropriate websites". I was just curious if anyone had a definetive response. 10-69er, your reply has been noted.

P.S. If I ever figure out who you are, we will have a little chat, ****

If youre so easily offended, then yeah youre a tard. Look where you chose to work, locked up with criminals. Thats fun. Keep tellin yourself that youre a Deputy and not a screw, hack, bull, CO, or jailer.

Hey Panda Licker:

Just like the guy who wants to chat on the other posting, we ARE chatting right here. Since y'all change your names on every posting, I don't know who I'm talking to anyway. Go register, so we all know you're the same person every post (or not, I don't care) and lets talk about something.

Due to their popularity, I recommend one of the following:

1. New deputies suck
2. Old deputies suck
3. Supervisors suck
4. Detention Deputies suck
5. Gay people suck
6. Our benefits suck
7. The Sheriff is dumb
8. The retired Peasley should be Sheriff
9. Ten6Niner is a dumbass (my personal favorite)
10. If I figure out who Ten6Niner is I'm gonna kick his/her butt. (good luck with that - your posts don't give me a lot of faith in your investigative skills)

wow this is good to be back and with such a great topic. once again if you want to go to a web site but think its not job related, then do 1 of 2 things: ready? either DONT DO IT!!! or ASK A SUPERVISOR if its ok. now if you think it would be a waste of time to ask that supervisor, or you feel stupid doing so then refer to option #1. or you know us hacks are great at asking moronic questions on strategies... try asking a question to them. the internet is provided as a privilege and will be taken away if abused. that abuse can come from any use such as searching news sites all day or porn for just a few minutes. all you have to do is use common sense and when questioned be honest. i know its a different concept but try both.

12-09-2006, 01:23 AM
I'm not going to get involved in this post much. I just want to address two individuals. "If the shoe fits", and "panda licker" (and I agree 10-6-9er, this is a questionable name at best). I love the way you always resort to bashing the jail. Not that it is always exciting to work here; but just like patrol, the job is what you make it. If you want to be active, have uses, help people out, and put your ass in the grass, you can. If you want to sit at control, pick your nose, and watch movies all night, you can do that too. To each his own. I doubt you ever worked at the jail. You don't know $hit about it, but you are the first ones to bash it. "Screw, hack, turn-key, jailer, der, der, der". You sound so incredibly intelligent to the rest of us. I wonder if you have to keep looking at your badge to spell "deputy". How many reports have you turned in and had kicked back to you because you spelled "deperdy"?

Here's a suggestion...
Considering the sensitivity of IA when it comes to 'innapropriate' websites, use a simple rule to gauge the appropriateness of what you should or should not view on the internet on County time/equipment:

Would you want your mother to view the website?
Would you want your child to view the website?

And not to condescend anyone here, but it only takes the common sense of a moron to judge which websites are acceptable to view at work. Besides, what part of your job justifies looking at 98rock.com while you are on duty? Unless you are viewing a government website, or a website specifically related to being a law enforcement officer(equipment, crime, etc.) you really have NO business being on the internet at all while you are at work. Really the only people who need to be on the internet 24/7 are 14 year old girls and internet business people(people who make a living using the internet).
Let's stop complaining about how much crime we have to put up with until we get off the internet and go out on the streets and fix the problem.
