He's been a very baaad boy. Let's just say that he was doing something with department property that he shouldn't have. Guess he should have listened to the warnings that were given.

Just another witch hunt, can't you all see this? This Admin has ben after him for political reasons and it showed when they lost the Fedeeral Lawsuit. Corruption is deep in Bradenton, I think this PD should be shut down and never allowed to be again. As fatr as the National and State Acredidation, that is a joke. We all know BPD does not follow the guidlines, they only pretend when there is going to be an inspection. What a joke Bradenton is and always will be. Be well Officers that are decent.

The previous post reaks of personal agenda--fired possible? Not hired possible? Or is it the Old Boss hog crew again.

11-26-2006, 12:42 AM
The Spelling is too "correct" to be current BPD

11-26-2006, 05:57 AM
It is not a political view or agenda, I work here and have been longer than most of you. I know because I have seen too much. I am saddened by the internal workings of this agency. I am tired of hearing than leave if you don't like it. That mentality is just another example of the problems pased down from the years past. It all sticks and never really changes. BPD really needs to be disolved and the SO should take over. There is no helping this place. Yes the good ole boy system in alive and well and it is breeding the same junkies as in the past 20 years. Sorry but the truth does hurt I know, I see it every day.

11-26-2006, 01:17 PM
You would not know the truth if it hit you in the face. You must be from the old team.

This place is 100 percent better than it was. Its not perfect but it gets better and better. And I agree if you are not going to work to keep making it better then you are part of the problem and you do need to leave.

Please don't tell me that they wil promote Klemcowardsky :!:

11-26-2006, 09:55 PM
These people who suggest that BPD shut down, who are they? To submit such a suggestion is beyond stupid. Is it so much better any where else you go, to suggest there is no 'buddy system' anywhere else is ridiculous. I have seen it too, but it works both ways. There are those that will argue with whomever is in charge, just because it makes them happy to be on that side.

Adults should be able to accept the change that is presented to him/her and make the best of the situation. You don't have to be friends with everyone, but you can at least get along with some of them. If you can't do it, it's not always the other guys fault.

As far as Harvey goes, if he doesn't want to discuss it, DROP IT, its none of your business. He is an adult as well and he can take care of himself one way or another.

Hey moderator, a new field should be added, are you a current employee?

11-26-2006, 11:32 PM
Klemcowardsky are you kidding??? He is too busy tending to Beavis & Butthead, Gumby, Mickey Mouse etc..etc..

11-27-2006, 01:36 PM

ROBERT NAPPER
Herald Staff Writer
BRADENTON - The Bradenton Police Department fired one of its sergeants Wednesday on accusations that he downloaded "pornographic videos" onto a city computer.

But former Sgt. Tim Harvey said calling the images pornography is "absolutely incorrect." He said there is no sexually explicit content on the videos, but he did admit there are images of "topless women." He said the videos are of commercials.

Harvey said the firing comes just days before his 10-year anniversary with the police department, and was timed as such so he would not receive his pension.

"I was due to have my pension vested on Saturday," said Harvey. "This was rushed so they could get a free 10 years from me."

On Nov. 3, the department suspended Harvey with pay after a computer technician found the images on Harvey's work computer at the police department.

"One of our computer technicians was doing some work on his computer and found the images," said Bradenton Police Maj. J.J. Lewis. "All work was then stopped and an internal affairs investigation began."

Lewis said the investigation by Lt. Russell Tibbitts revealed Harvey had downloaded the files from a personal thumb drive, which is a portable memory storage component used to transfer information from computer to computer.

In addition to police records, Harvey said he kept personal information on the same thumb drive that he kept separate from his police work.

"He had plugged the thumb drive into his city computer and downloaded the videos," Lewis said.

Harvey said he did bring the thumb drive to work to download police department information on the city drive, but never downloaded the videos in question onto his city computer. Harvey said he does not known how the files came to be included in the information transfer.

"I never did anything that would have caused those files to be downloaded. The police department is not interested in how it happened, just punishment," Harvey said.

Lewis said that during the investigation, Harvey told investigators that the download of the videos had been an accident. Harvey claims computer error, not his own.

After viewing the videos, police investigators suspended Harvey on violations including conduct unbecoming, unsatisfactory performance, computer utilization and violating City of Bradenton policies regarding the use of electronic communication.

Lewis said Bradenton Police Chief Michael Radzilowski signed off on the investigation into the matter, saying it had been conducted effectively and thoroughly.

Harvey's supervisor, Capt. Randy Petroskey, then found the violations to be sustained and recommended that Harvey be terminated, Lewis said.

On Monday, police officials also found grounds to uphold the recommendation during a pre-disciplinary hearing and officially fired Harvey, Lewis said.

In addition to Harvey's claims that his firing was timed just short of receiving his pension, he also claims the timing of when he was told of the firing and subsequent hearing are suspect.

"I was told the day before Thanksgiving, giving me five days to agonize over this without being able to do anything about it," said Harvey.

Lewis discounted that the timing of the investigation had anything to do with Harvey's impending pension.

"That has no bearing on this at all. Once the violations were discovered, an investigation began as soon as possible and was completed in the appropriate amount of time," Lewis said.

Harvey is not done fighting for his job, he said. He said the Florida Police Benevolent Association union has filed a grievance on his behalf, which will most likely lead to arbitration. He called the punishment "excessive."

"This all an effort to ruin my reputation," he said.
