Well once again Mr. Bolin has been brought before the courts for the death of Ms. Collins, and once again he has been found guilty. Good job by all those involved at your agency, Hillsborough State Attorney's Office, FDLE and the FBI.

But I have one question reference this last trial. The Tribune reported that during the most recent trial a piece of paper had been found that was not evidence in trials 1 and 2. The paper contained the name "Ray" along with his vehicle tag number, and was in Ms. Collins purse. How could this had been over looked in the investigation or was it tucked in a place that no one could had found until 20 years later by another agency?

Below are parts of the Tribune report:

In this most-recent trial, the jury got an extra piece of evidence.

During closing arguments, Assistant State Attorney Mike Halkitis pulled a folded sheet of yellow paper from Collins' purse. On the back of the note, in Collins' handwriting, was the name Ray and a series of numbers and letters: the tag number for Oscar Ray Bolin's truck.

The note was not shared with defense attorneys but Halkitis said he made it clear to them that the purse and its contents would be used as evidence. The defense had access to the purse and could have found the note at any time, Halkitis said.

Bolin's attorney, David Parry, pointed out to the jury that no witnesses confirmed that the note was in the purse and no one could say for sure where it came from. He also questioned why law enforcement never found it or never ran the tag number.

"Before today, no one did anything about it," Parry said.
