A Signal 6 from the Port...
Why are the Deputies who were involved still employed?
We've given lots of "time off" for NOT jeopardizing the public's safety. :?
If you have an armed, escaped felon on the ground, do you let them up and allow them to run away?
Does this agency overlook the errors of certain family members and friends actions?
'Guess I shoulda been a good ole boy... 8)
Not just another dedicated public servant........

And what's the story behind this?

You obviously weren't there.

3 hours into it, we, the ground units, were notified that the SG 6 might be armed after the home owner conducted an inventory and found a firearm missing. When the corrections deputy ordered the inmate to surrender, he did not see a firearm nor did the inmate mention anything about a firearm. The inmate then fled into the swamp where he hid for hours.

Now, if you want to make a stink about how the inmate made it into an outdoor work program with his record and the new charges he was in for, go right ahead. There is no reason for a person who has done DOC time and is facing DOC time again to be on a minimally supervised outside work program - at least in my opinion anyways.
