Promotion exam

2007 Sergeant's exam will take place on July 23, 2007. The test will be 100% written and based on the following material:

TPD Operations manual, Rules and Regs
Latest Editions -Updates through 12/31/06

Effective Supervisory Practices
International City Management Association\
ICMA Training Institute
Third Edition, 1995

Collective Bargaining Agreement- PBA contract with City of Tampa
October 1, 2006 to September 30, 2009

I think the promtional parade is just about over for a bit...Lots of rank right now with less than 10-15 years on that will not be leaving anytime soon. Afer this current list I expect things will be flat.

Nothing like using a book that will be 12 years old by the time the test is taken.

Anybody know where you can get the book, ICMA and amazon didn't have it when I searched

I also have searched various internet sites for the book and have been unable to find it anywhere.

If the book isn't going to be available, the PBA needs to file a grievance and get the book changed to the new edition that is easily available.

I'm thinking about putting mine on Ebay if anyone is interested in bidding for it. :D :lol: :lol:

I have a text book that I will give to someone if they want it. It is already highlighted with most of the previous test questions back to the early 90s. Was passed over enough that I got the hint and no longer need it.

Would love to have it if you don't want it anymore...

Thanks for the link, they have 1 used copy for $78.00. What a deal!! :evil: Now what about the other 500 Officers.

When you were listing the requirements for SGT you forgot one major piece of valuable information: You must have no commen sense or any street experience...come on in and make an impression and dictate your command to IMPRESS. You must be able to work through people and not with them.
