The PBA met with the City on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006. The following proposals were handed to the City:
7.5% for fiscal year 2007
6.5% for fiscal year 2008
6.0% for fiscal year 2009
The pay increases were coupled with TPD's outstanding record of crime reduction for the past three years, and compared with the cities of Jacksonville and Orlando, both of whom are battling serious crime increases in their respective jurisdictions.
Additionally the PBA proposed a one time bonus for each officer, payable upon ratification of the contract. The amount proposed for each officer is $750.00. This was an approximation of 1.25% of a current step 10 Police Officer.
This means on 9/1/09 a 10 year street cop in Tampa will be making $ 78,873.00
and thats just a street cop that hasn't been promoted, Holy Cow Bat Man !
