Is it not true from the officers who work in Internet Pornography crime, have special federally obtained software that has the ability to monitor a web site and know who the people are that are posting to it, via their IP addressing? I heard this can be done remotely without tipping off the server personnel. Is this just rumor, or truth? Is the only way to get an IP and tap & trace via subpoena from the web server? Any technical people here?

Does it really matter who finds out who is writing what? Last I checked, this is a free country and our freedom of speech is still in tact. The only reason for signing on anonomously is to keep the most others from knowing who all of the authors are so that one feels relatively safe from being ridiculed or alientated. It doesn't appear that anyone is writing anything that is dangerous or threatening to public safety. Be free and write-on!

I agree. Don't write anything you shouldn't, like confidential informaition, etc., then your first amendment rights protect you to post what you want.
