Nice call there Lt. B. Large crowd and brawls following the football game Friday night at Gibbs. Typical roving band of wayward juveniles fighting and blocking the streets. The police get there and try to maintain some sort of order and of course here come the bricks. Landing between several officers and damaging at least one cruiser. Of course we have to document the incident. What better then a TDM or AGGRAVATED ASSAULT.

NO WAY! We can't do that it would indicate a situation where there was potential unrest and violence towards the police. Here's where the mighty Lt takes charge. It's only a BRAWL. They weren't intentionally trying to hit the officers or police cars. They were throwing them at another group who was behind the officers. AH HELLO whoever the intended targets were doesn't matter it still fits the category of a TDM or AGGRAVATED ASSAULT.

Good job oh mighty one. Let's continue to downplay what is really happening on the streets. Glad to see your keeping up with the highest traditions of the staff's philosophy: IF WE IGNORE IT, IT DIDN'T HAPPEN.

Well ya see actually doing anything about such a thing as a "crime" would require "police work" which is something St. Pete cops aren't allowed to do. And it'd be nice to have a "leader" who didn't have their balls removed and placed in a jar at city hall which I think is a requirement prior to actually being promoted.

What a shame that a high school football game ends in that manner. The solution is simple - have 10 AM Saturday football games like they do in some of the northern cities. It's hard to get away with throwing bricks when the sun is out.

Only been mentioned in YRS for the last 6 years...won't happen because the cartel cannot deal dope during the daytime! It's not like we have extra officers available on that day anyhow, they are given up for traffic details from 11am-7pm.

Word to the wise, (citizens who read this page) we mainly conduct traffic operations on Fridays so watch your speed during that day. We only ticket those people who stop and only work speed zones in nicer areas of the city where we know they will stop for the po po.

Good thing no one caught the little *******s that were throwing the bricks...we might have had to HANDCUFF them!!

I'd love to see one of those punks get shot just before they hurled a brick. It'd be a clean shoot...preventing the commission of a forcible felony. You know the staff would try their best to convince Bernie to indict the officer, but a good shoot is a good shoot.

not to mention the overtime from the riots for shooting the youth

So was this a civil disturbance, civil unrest? Who can we name a neighborhood gym for this time? Incredible!

It was just good wholesome fun

Don't rush to judgment. SPPD does arrest juveniles for committing crimes. The SRO's take reasonable action when justified and the YRD sgt's support their decisions. But after the Friday night arrests, here's what happens from there.

The little darlings often get released to their family and/or the State Att'y Office reduces it to nothing followed by some previously been a defense att'y juvenile judge who slaps their wrist and lets 'em go.

Then the fun starts at SPPD. Some baby's momma is cousin to Luke or special friend to Al and before long, that child was mistreated and shoulda never been put in handcuffs. Lord, no!

If little Johnny feels the need to throw concrete at the police then little Johnny needs his little ass kicked. If big mamma feels the need to intervene then she too should take a ride. After all it all starts at home we might as well keep the family together.
