Here are the official locations for fireworks displays in Sarasota County: City of Sarasota
Dusk: Fireworks over Sarasota Bay, part of The Suncoast Offshore Grand Prix Fourth of July celebration, J.D. Hamel Park (Sarasota Bayfront Park) at the end of Main Street and U.S. 41 in Sarasota (across the street from Marina Jack restaurant). Best viewing is at the end of Gulf Stream Avenue and Main Street, or any spot along Island Park. Admission is free. Call 371-8820, Ext. 1800.

Siesta Key
9 p.m.: The Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce and the Pelican Press will sponsor a fireworks show, which will be set off from just north of Siesta Key Public Beach's volleyball courts. Watch from anywhere along Crescent Beach. The Stickney Point Bridge and the Siesta Drive Bridge will close at 9:30 p.m. and reopen at 11:30 p.m. Admission is free. Call 349-3800.

City of Venice
Dusk: The Sertoma Club of Venice and the city of Venice sponsor a display from the South Jetty. Watch from Venice Beach or Nokomis Beach. Admission is free.

City of North Port
9 p.m.fireworks display at North Port High School, 6400 W. Price Blvd, part of the city of North Port's Freedom Festival. Chairs will be permitted on the track, and blankets on the infield. No alcoholic beverages or coolers will be allowed. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted. Call 423-8558.

Englewood
A 30-minute fireworks display will be held at 9 p.m. at Blind Pass Beach, Englewood. The best sites for viewing are Middle Beach on Manasota Key Road; Indian Mound Park at Winson Avenue off West Dearborn Street; Lemon Bay Park, 570 Bay Park Blvd.; Royal Palm Marina, 779 W. Wentworth St.; and from the water in those areas. Admission is free. Members of the Jaycees will accept donations to cover the cost of the display. Call 475-2380 or 697-6657.[/*:m:3bdq6q0r]Be safe.
