Does anyone know where I can find out about being an FCIC operator? Thanks for the help in advance.

If you apply for a dispatcher or even call taker job, they will train you. FCIC training is given by FDLE, however it just covers the policies and rules. Training on FCIC will be given by your CTO.

Sarasota hires specific for FCIC operators. Don't know if they have any openings though.

Thanks for the replies. I am already FCIC certified but I was looking more into being strictly FCIC operator.

Ok, I've been out of this loop for awhile, but doesn't Manatee S/O have a seperate FCIC? (At least they used to...)

They have a teletype unit. They enter/take out BOLO's, send teletypes, run 27,28,29.

That is too bizarre for words. They run 10-29s, do BOLO's, but don't do entries? Who does the entries on S8's, S10's, articles, etc.?

According to FDLE policy and procedure. If an agency has an FCIC/NCIC terminal, anyone who comes in contact with the machine, includes but not limited to: running articles, people, vehicles, updating the system, working around the system, must be certified. If you need to be certified you must contact the TAC In your agency or FDLE for your area. You have to be atleast 18 and can't be convicted of a felony (or possible some crime).
