How proactive is your agency at hiring vets? How well do they work with you if you're in the National Guard?

our agency doesnt proactively recruit vets but we should. we recently voted in a military/law enforcement buyback. you can purchase up to 5 years of previous military/law enforcement experience back towards your plant city retrirement. you must be vested before you can use it towards your retirement. to be vested with the city you must have 10 years employment. so, if you bought back 5 years when you hit your 10 year anniversary you would automatically have 15 years of service toward retirement. any other questions let us know,

How well does your agency work with you if you have a military obligation? Do they let you have the time off willingly or do they give you problems? Can you get promoted or become a detective, etc? How well does your city's admin support you?
