View Full Version : What the hell is going on here?

Holy smokes. What has gone wrong with this agency? Officers leaving left and right...CO could care less. Supervisors sending staff home because of her own incorrect interpretation of policy? Does anyone care? Supervisors who would sooner lie to cover their own butts while feeding you to the wolves?

Is this a professional organization or what? Are we just playing cards in a deck held by psychopaths? I don't get it. Most of us are hard working, dedicated employees who honestly believe in what we do, and do it to the best of our abilities. Yet we get crapped on left and right, while all they care about is me saying and signing my oath. Where's their oath to us? Where do they protect their employees to the best of their ability, not lie on due dates, cause their officers untold amounts of grief, stress, etc? What makes people do this? The $42,000 a year some office sup is making?

I'm closing in on ten years, and I've never seen morale this low before. I'm hearing good officers are leaving for whatever job they can get. Doesn't anyone care? Is this what they are trying to do...get us all to leave so they can create their own new staff of do-gooders?

I wish someone would just step back and look and the disaster they are creating. And over stupid crap. Honor code? That has GOT to come from the top down. Until I see it from my chain of command, they were just words on another endless stream of e-mails.

It is coming from the top. They are saying investigations better not be late at the end of the month no excuses to the CA's who in turn are leaning on the Supervisors telling them it better be done one way or another. Region and them could care less if Officers in shorthanded offices (most) are doing more than 40 hours a week to keep up just dont tell them about it. They have learned if they threaten enough this gets done one way or another and they look the other way. In a way I feel bad for the CA's and DCA's because they are the ones who keep getting canned or told they will if they dont retire so they can keep everyone scared to meet numbers by any means necessary. The sad thing is the officer who does over 40 all the time makes many others do it also with no overtime since they have pride and dont want someone to have to complete their work if they were to call the state on that 40 hours. This is not right and they know it. More cheers to our great Colonel who has brought this on us just to make us look more professional in his words.

I am so over the stress and bullshit of this job. From this point forward I will do my job to the best of my ability. I will never work one second over 40 hours. If the investigation is late, write me up, and I will file grievance for being denied overtime to complete my work. (yes, I request almost weekly) What are you going to do, fire me? At this stage, is that such a bad thing? God, the morale here is totally in the tank. There's absolutely no incentive whatsoever to excel at this job. Be a supervisor? A senior Sup? A DCA? You think anyone in CO gives a rat's ass what the supervisors think about anything? Have DCA folks...think you're making policy? Hell, all you do is forward e-mails from your boss to the boss below you. Wow. What a promotion. All that respect to hit the "forward" button and type "read and comply" or "share with staff". Don't need a college degree for that!!! And you think people respect you guys and gals?

What ever. I'm done. Typing a resume this weekend and heading elsewhere. Ten years down the drain, I suppose, but can't take this stinking crapass job anymore. Dress code? You're worried about my clothes when I'm busting my ass to supervise offenders? Maybe all those ex-po posts are right...maybe it is better to be a cop. Can't imagine they go through this nonsense at all.

Ok, just had to vent.

All jobs have their headaches but this is getting rediculous. We are the ones who let it happen by getting our work done on a 100 + cases without overtime (most doing it anyway) because we are threatened if we dont. It makes you laugh how they put statements in policy all over the place which state to get with your supervisor if you have over so many points to get a plan to complete your work. Hello - everyone else in the Office barely has time to do theirs either - so it is basically a way of getting the supervisors to threaten us because they are saying for them to give you a plan. At least in police work you get paid for your overtime and are not threatened to do it off the books (even though they never say that that's what they want). If we fire and force retire enough CA's the threats will make sure we get the work done one way or another.

Wow, you guys have until the end of the month to get investigations done? We have till the close of business each work day and anything over the weekend or holiday must be done by the friday before it.

If the supervisor extends the due date then not one investigation will ever be late

 The story and the reaction is always the same. If every officer turned in their notice tomorrow, the CO would post the openings and never ask anybody why they are leaving in mass.

It sounds like people from 061 are writting in on the message board. The joke is that the supervisors go shopping don't show up till way after 8am and yet the invest list is always timely hum just move the date around. And how could i foget the dress code yeh that's a way to boost moral. Forgot to mention how the SIC has the lead for support staff all to herself. Amazing how she never shows up for breaks for the desk people or CJIT but has time to go shopping with YA. Whatever!

ditto to all except our sups work nights weekends and holidays, if we can't get it done they pitch in, I feel sorry for my sups and they don't sell us down the river they try to help so I guess I am not inCircuit 6 but I agree with everything written in these posts, I have been around for a long time, would NOT APPLY for a sup job AND moral is the WORST I have ever seen in my 15 years
