Memo
TO: All Corrections Deputies
FROM: Captain Scott
DATE: 5/15/06
SUBJECT: Hand held Metal Detector
Effective today, ALL initial (pat down) searches at intake will be immediately followed by a handheld ("wand") metal detector search. THE "WAND" SEARCH WILL NOT TAKE THE PLACE OF A PROPER PAT DOWN, IT SHOULD ONLY AID IN THE DETECTION OF DANGEROUS CONTRABAND. The "wand" search will cover the entire body of the arestee. Areas of focus should be where objects or weapons are easily concealed (e.g. waist, crotch/groin, ankles, soles of feet).
CC: Major Stinger
Capt Montemagno
Lt ParisiThis is a result of 2 guns being smuggled into our jail. The wand is a GREAT idea and should have been used a long time ago.
