What about AB and JC? Let’s face it people, our sheriff fired 3 qualified people over words. They didn’t commit a crime they didn’t do anything that no one else hasn’t done at one point in their careers. The sheriff wants to run this agency on fear and intimidation and he did that by making an example out of those people. The punishment doesn’t fit the crime. Sure, JZ demoted, AB and JC a stern talking to, some unpaid days or weeks off. Termination? The sheriff claims to be protecting us from bullies but it seems to me he is bullying us. We all get raises and now we have these mandatory pow wows everyday before shift? Shift change sucks now. Nothing is ever good enough. You could be top in the agency for arrests but you’ll get spoken to if you aren’t in a plaza enough checking doors. This whole “no more than being in one spot for longer than 30 minutes” is bullshit. The sheriff wants numbers but he can’t even provide us with the numbers to keep staffing up. Cuts out PTO, messes with insurance, and no matter what our numbers look like, it’s not enough. Region commanders come out and say “you guys are doing so so great.. BUT we need you to do more more more.. with less less less” no one can speak their mind anymore in fear of losing their job or being on the radar. That whole situation ruined more than 3 people’s lives, it destroyed our agency. But at least the real bullies are revealed. DL, DP, LT, SL, and anyone else who is a “yes man” and tells he sheriff what he wants to hear. No one in command is going to stand up for what’s right.. and the ones who would are silenced. Sergeants and LTs don’t even have much say.. and god forbid they do.. REASSIGNED. Idk about all of you, but I don’t plan to stick around for this bullshit. You can give me all the money in the world, but if I could lose it all over words? What’s the point. I hope everything goes well for the 3 that were made an example of.

WEAK MANAGERS (I am not going to call DL or the rest of the clowns in the Ivory Tower Leaders the only one who was ever a REAL COP up there is LT) rule by fear! Its a shame what this agency has become. DE would be sick if he saw what this place had turned into. After grooming and handing DL the Sheriffs positions this is the crap he pulls. But you were all warned and many good Deputies saw the writing on the walls and left for OPD, OCSO and other jobs.. Enjoy all the Koolaide you are forced to drive now daily...

When 2020 rolls around don’t worry.. he will build up all his broken promises and pred he didn’t know the agency was being run this way.. he will make a bunch of other promises he intends to fill and will continue to make our lives a living hell unless he isn’t elected.

I don’t know raise you got but mine was 3% after everything was taken away like investigation and experience pay. Since I started I have had 3% raise almost every year with a few years of nothing. People that started after me have had anywhere between 3% - 15% per year.

Point is.. it’s all shit. No one on the road is happy anymore. All he talked about was positivity and boosting morale and he and his yes men are making morale shit. Burnt out.. short staffed... someone is going to get hurt.

Let’s be clear, Dennis Lemma didn’t just fire 3 Deputies over some banter. He completely wrecked their lives for an undetermined amount of time. He doesn’t understand fairness in discipline. Nor does he understand that HE and the rest of the minions in the Ivory Tower should bear responsibility for the environment that we find ourselves in. A leader cannot continue to take from their subordinates or punish them for his lack of leadership and expect to have them loyally follow him. We’ve lost countless sums of benefits, pay and staffing while they continue to demand more.

Some of our best and brightest have already deported our agency with more to follow. I really don’t think he gives a crap about it. Like most politicians, he’ll continue to smile and tell us what he thinks we want to hear while demoralizing us behind our backs.

Problem is MOST bigger agencies will never touch these three. Once your ATMS record gets dinged with "Terminated for Cause" most recruiters wont even take the time to read why. Its going to be an uphill battles especially if they stay in the area..

This just further proves the point that this agency is a shell of its former self. Anyone who stays here deserves everything they get. Those worried about pension go to another SO or state pension department and not loose a thing. If you have less than 5 get the hell out now and start off somewhere else at a higher wage and get to be a real COP.

If you want to join the Apple Bottoms girl crew of the DV squad to fancy coffee drinkers and pretend to be a cop then this is the agency for you. The NERDS unit has some snow cones that need to be passed out.. Good luck...

DL doesn’t care about the impact he had on their lives and he doesn’t give a shit about us either. He only cares about his next career move. I am sure he looks at this forum. If he cared he would do something about it. I heard they weren’t even given the option to resign. Others have done far worse and been given that option.
