Veteran looking for some info

I am a veteran and former military police looking to cross to civilian police. Can anyone on here give me some ups and downs to working with Sunrise? I am not looking for bashing comments of other officers but genuine pros and cons about the departments. Thanks in advance.

Pros: one of the highest paid departments in the state, great retirement, great equipment, city is still growing/expanding, strong tax base, great mix of residents and calls (rougher crowd out east and middle class Central west)

Cons: not as large as a department like BSO or Fort Lauderdale, no dive team, we're dying for some new uniforms like Coral Springs....we're still wearing the same old polyester

it is EXTREMELY difficult to get hired here...we get a lot of good applicants but the fact that you're a veteran will definitely help you.
