Fact of the matter is if we want a strong Union, we need more paying members and a rep that has balls and isn't afraid to get shit done. Renegotiations are coming up, so who ever wants it needs to speak up. We need 2 guys minimum to have a balance. Since having our "union" we don't have meetings, we don't have anything to keep us informed or in the loop about what's going. It's a joke.

2 major issues need to be resolve by DPD - 1) complete and unimpeded civil service classification and board.
2) DPD with it's own bargaining unit local with the strategy of acquiring good benefits , negotiating wage increases for its members and enhancing workplace safety for all workers .

BTW what's there to say when the same people had the same positions for 6 or 7 years prior. Maybe you were one of them and that's why you couldn't handle being changed. Change is great. I loved my posts so I can't complain.

You are walking on thin ice if you are thinking of being a union rep for DPD. No protection from any union , management or the city government itself for exposing issues or concerns. In fact the department will fine a way to terminate you if you are a whistle blower. Again , I highly stress that what we need as employees of DPD is complete and unimpeded civil service classification and a civil service hearing board.
DPD needs it's own union local , a complete and separate bargaining unit. Stay safe !
