Rookies, take a good look at your paycheck, you're gonna be making the same, maybe less 5 years from now. Just realize that we haven't seen a pay raise in 8 years and your pay steps are frozen. The city admin and the cop-hating council have no intentions to unfreeze your steps, give you the same insurance rates or sick leave as the rest of the city employees, or give you a pension that you could live off of after retirement. These issues didn't seem too important to you when you were hired, like most, you wanted a job and we all understand that. But now that you're here and you have an income, do your research, there are many cities and counties that understand the essence of public safety and treating it's LEO's fairly. Understand that this douchebag mayor set out his agenda long before he became mayor, which was to attack our pension benefits and decrease our pay, well...., he was true to his word and he still has over 3 years left. Be smart, don't be that guy thats been here 10 years that's kicking themselves in the ass wishing they left a long time ago. Be safe brothers!!
