So it's not official yet. But looks like Orlando is going to be the new mayor of Sweetwater. Let's see how many will demote themselves before May. True colors will now show

Don't count your chickens just yet, there is still the appeal before the Third District Court of Appeals. Should Orlando and Pepe Herrera, Esq. prevail, if that is ever possible at Sweetwater, things might change.

This is the critical clause in the governing Section; if Diaz did not resign in WRITING as required, unlikely his argument that he did by proxy will survive Third District Court of Appeal review.

(c) The written resignation must be submitted at least 10 days prior to the first day of qualifying for the office he or she intends to seek.

Jose Pepe Herrera will do anything to become the city attorney. He first began working for the same guy he is trying to take down. Wow what an accomplishment to be the city attorney of Sweetwater. Congratulations your still a loser.

Pepe the Viper is pure human excrement that will plunge a knife into your back the moment you cease to forward his agenda.
Be careful; be very careful of this animal.
Distance is the only defense.

"Pepe" Herrera might be whatever you want to call him; what he is, is a relentless and vigorous advocate for his client. In the Diaz v Lopez case the law is clear, Diaz had to resign and do so in writing. Clearly Diaz did not and that is why the Circuit Judge ruled as she did. Unless J C Planas can articulate such a compelling argument before 3rd DCA judges that the applicable Statutory Section does note really means what is written therein, Diaz is out of the mayoral race and so is Catalino out of Diaz' commission seat!

Congrats to Orlando for a great court victory today. Your first order of business should be to get Jose "Pepe" Herrera a well deserved make over. Please start with fixing his jacked up teeth, then move on to a modern pair of eyeglasses and some new suits and ties. Corruption at its best the Manny's clan is back in power with his former attorney and commissioner buddies at the controls once again.
