View Full Version : HECTOR GARCIA

To our colleagues of Palm Beach Schools Police Department (PBSPD):

Our department recently hired Hector Garcia who, to our understanding, was employed at one point with PBSPD. We were hoping to hear from some of you that know him, what your thoughts were.
Thus far, all we have heard is he is an ego-maniac that thinks he knows everything about school policing and safety. His bio is more like a novel and he refers to himself as the expert in the field. Upon coming into our department, we were told that we were to either address him as Major or Dr.
Prior to joining us, he had a brief stint at the police academy at Miami Dade College where, according to many, he upset a handful of people and really chummed up to the educators.
Also, he worked at another school district police force in Clark County, Nevada, where he was allegedly embattled with a number of problems, such as being accused of arrogance and being pompous at times. According to Nevada media reports, he also got into some type of trouble for misconduct during a labor meeting where he supposedly simulated kicking a female arbitrator and made inappropriate remarks about her. There are also articles about poor record/book-keeping and financial concerns within the agency during his tenure.
He also reportedly has had at least one or more private consulting companies that have been involved in questionable or criticized business transactions, some with our current chief and other companies.
Just this past year, he applied to become your chief but was passed over. He also applied for the chiefs position at a local university but wasn't selected. Obviously, where there is smoke, there is fire, but we were hoping to hear from any of you that may have worked with him and could provide some insight.
Be safe throughout the remained of the school year.

I have 4 words for you:

Better You Than Us!

Good old Hector. A blast from our past and let me just say that we don't miss the guy at all. I feel so bad for you guys in Miami. You want to talk about ego, elitist and know-it-all. The only thing important was to one day be a chief-at all costs.
What was your agency thinking, or were they? The best day in the history of our department was the day Chief Kelly left. The second best day was when Hector Garcia left. I guess you could say the third best day was when we learned that he was passed over for the chief's job.
It seems like the information you have thus far appears pretty reliable.
Good luck...your'e going to need it.

:(

I have nothing to say. It seems as if you guys already know.

Has he started his expert claims yet and lectures?

Let me guess. By now he has started parading around meeting everyone. Shanking hands and kissing babies. You guys have fun with that. What in the hell were you thinking?

There is only one guy, no... two... worst than Hector. So, if you are hiring we have a wonderful a radio guy and an even better evidence guy that we will be glad to send you.

No thank you. I think one is more than enough if the other guys are anything like Hector. This guy is something I tell you. He really thinks and open claims to be one of the most knowledgeable experts in school policing and safety in the nation, according to him.

He loves to hear himself speak and strikes many of us as being kinda shady. much like out chief.

The old-times with the School Board remember what Hector did in 2001. We don't earn vacation, however we get an abbreviated schedule. Our non-contract days are our days off to use for vacations. In 2001, Hector issued the summer schedule of when we would be training and when we would be off. Three months later, he changed the schedule, after our officers had already bought airline/cruise tickets; made hotel reservations, etc. When he was made aware of this it was of no concern of his.

I am sorry to hear that Hector did that to your troops. He seems to be all about himself with his resume, his private business ventures, his so-called expertise, his long-windedness, his bio, etc. Many here, just after a short time of him being here, are very concerned with him. The guy just seems completely wrapped-up in himself.

We had heard you guys were not happy with him and his stay in Clark County Nevada was supposedly marred with problems.

I guess we are screwed.

You guys are screwed.

Good old Hector. The smartest man and police officer in the world (if you ask him). Has Napoleon gotten any taller? He sure can tell some tall tales!

He was terminated from Miami Dade Schools Poli e Department, along with his buddy Chief Ian Moffet. They both embezzled funds, con artists and thieves the both if them. They should have been removed in handcuffs...
