10-15-2013, 02:03 PM
When is the new City manager going to be announced? Who's going to be the new Chief?

10-18-2013, 03:58 AM
Rumor has it The deputy chief of Miami Gardens is coming over. Anyone heard the same?

10-24-2013, 02:13 AM
Looking out of state this time. Rumor has it there is a 28 year no bullshit veteran from SC who is going to be in the mix and will be a serious contender.

10-25-2013, 07:30 AM
word throughout Miami Dade County is that the deputy chief from Miami Gardens, Miller I think his name is, will be the new chief. Maybe we should talk with the Gardens cops to find out how he is?

10-25-2013, 02:39 PM
Ray Martinez of Miami Beach. He's in the drop and is ready to go. Where did your new Manager come from and who did he appoint down there?

10-30-2013, 06:00 PM
Not a local. Someone connected to Bal Harbor Shops.

11-01-2013, 09:01 PM
Is that forfeiture dipping Chief out of police work for good? I sure hope so.

There will be a "come to Jesus" meeting where all will learn what it will take to remain and then the chips will fall where they may. Integrity will not be negotiable.

When Tom took over there were 3 Sgts and one Asst to the Chief- that was it!. Tom eventually promoted/made 3 Captains, two Lts., one commander, half a dozen Sgts - all for the same size city. (not including all the 'ghost badges' he gave out) Tom got his support by kissin asses and promoting, thus getting ass kissers in return. The city seems to want everything the same as it was before the disaster of Tom.

A local Federal Agent is the front contender.

11-12-2013, 04:58 AM
A local Federal Agent is the front contender. well, not so. Last i heard, Paul Miller from Miami Gardens is the talk of town. But the crime rate increase in MG may be hurting his chances in the last few weeks. We'll see. Regardless we need someone who's going to bring back a good name for us.

Federal agents who become police chiefs typically do not do well. Just look at Chicago (Former FBI SAC), and Puerto Rico (Former FBI SAC). Bal Harbour has many good things to offer (a small department, strong tax base, active community involvement, and low crime). The citizens deserve someone who will serve the residents and tax payers of the village. Hopefully the next chief will focus on Bal Harbour and not crime occurring 1000's of miles away.

Maybe so, but it will be tough for many to beat the credentials of a federal agent especially if there is a police background attached to his resume.

Most FBI have not a clue on how police departments work.

A Fed has the lead presently. From SoFl

Heard it's a guy with metropolitan police experience, with ties to the shops?

11-23-2013, 12:33 AM
I don't think that is the guy.

11-26-2013, 12:14 AM
I hope you guys got some good candidates to interview. Hopefully you will have a new chief in a month or so. You deserve someone without the typical Miami/Miami Beach corruption baggage. Good luck!! :D :D :D

11-26-2013, 02:30 AM
how many people put in?

That is why they are leaning towards this Federal Agent. No ties to Miami corruption and solid police background.

Mark Overton just made it interesting

Well, there goes the typical Miami/Miami Beach corruption baggage. It will be interesting to see if Gonzalez wants change or the same South Florida "Telenovelas."

Not going to happen.

Tommy was THEE typical corruption baggage from Miami Beach and look how long HE lasted with plenty of support from the troops (although he paid them off very well for their unconditional support)

12-10-2013, 09:13 PM
The Fed is still currently the front runner. No corruption and no Miami-Dade baggage.

12-12-2013, 11:41 PM
Now is the time to get rid of the sewer stench Telflon Tom left behind.

12-12-2013, 11:43 PM
When Overton walks in for his first day on the job, his first step should be not to trust the current administration. His second step, if he is going to be sucessful, is to get rid of them ASAP.

12-13-2013, 05:18 AM
wow.. U guys are in for a shock.. Overton is a good guy.. Maybe some cleaning will be done.. Who will it be. Lol..

12-13-2013, 05:06 PM
Overton rose through the ranks in Hialeah and was known as a cops cop. He was well respected amongst the troops and always backed his subordinates. Unfortunately as he continued to rise in rank he lost his way. A man of faith forgot what he stood for have in to political pressure in order to keep his four little stars. Before you knew it, he was dancing on the strings of the puppet master. I have known and worked with this man for over twenty years and have lost all respect for him and what he represents. Watch your backs! Oh and "god bless you". Soon you'll start feeling a sharp pain in your rectum every time you hear those words used.

12-13-2013, 08:32 PM
You did pretty good.. it could have been a lot worse for you

ANYBODY, even Chumlee, would have been an improvement over Teflon Tom

12-19-2013, 08:33 PM
Wrong. But if you're lucky, he'll invite you to his prayer meetings. All that glitters...

12-21-2013, 06:19 AM
I'm telling you guys, it that guy from Miami Gardens, who is the headliner.
