Is it true Benito is being looked at?

Is it true Benito is being looked at?

Among others, yes.

Is it true Benito is being looked at?

For what, police chief? Benito is a nice person, but he is not police chief material. He doesn't have the educational background nor managerial experience needed to effectively lead and manage your agency. If the interim mayor and most of the commissioners are thinking of replacing Fulgueira, they must get out of the inbred recycle mindset, with few but brief exceptions -- that has generally pervaded your agency for decades and select a person -- from outside -- that will take your department to a respectable level among Miami-Dade County's Law Enforcement Community. Otherwise, your department will continue to be the laughing stock it is.

Besides, Fulgueira has done a good job since appointed and unless he is implicated in wrongdoing -- which we doubt -- he should remain. Change for change sake is unwise!

But if Fulgueira is on his way out, I nominate Ricardo "Ricky" Gomez for chief!

Right, so he can be the shining star he was at Doral...

Ricky Fatso Gomez is a big huge FAT a hole. He destroyed Doral PD. You guys need a professional manager not a professional loser.

08-13-2013, 03:05 AM
Why you hate Rick? Just because his IQ is twice yours is no reason for your loathing!

08-13-2013, 05:11 PM
He was a joke at Doral! He was publicly humiliated on camera by the old Mayor, and he sat there and took it like a little *****. Further, he did NOTHING for the officers, except appoint his buddies to higher paid positions.

Fat**** got fired, and he deserved it.

08-13-2013, 08:47 PM
Let's campaign for the re-appointment of Jesse Menocal. He was great chief!!!

08-16-2013, 04:52 AM
Bring back Charlie Toledo!

Bring back Charlie Toledo!

An excellent nomination. Charlie would keep the "elected" band of idiots in check, and as Florida licensed attorney, the doltish elected officials will not dare mess with him or the troops. Doubt Charlie would accept and less the gaggle of idiots appoint him!

Absolutely not! I speak the truth, and the whole SoFla LEO community knows it!

Look at it for what is worth, your department is a joke.

Beginning with your FTO program barely training your new officers making them sign off on training paperwork stating they were trained when in fact they were not.

Your officers abuse their power stopping citizens for just walking on the sidewalk and harassing people for loitering while within the confines of their own property. Not to mention the mistreatment of prisoners that includes beating them while handcuffed to a chair.

You hire every marginal misfit that have been fired from other departments and no other department wants them because of their shady past.

You will never have worthy officers employed for long in your department because good officers that had the misfortune (because they did not know better) of getting hired by your agency have the good sense and intelligence to find employment elsewhere and get the hell out.

Furthermore, FDLE should revoke your certification, dismantle the department and give police operations to the Miami-Dade Police Department.

I feel bad for the good citizens of Sweetwater that have to endure the mediocre service you provide.

Sounds like you've been smoking the "devils lettuce" again!

In a numbers vs. time comparison, MDPD has more officers arrested for crimes in one year, than Sweetwater in 10 years. MDPD just has a great relationship with the media and some things get out and some things don't. MDPD media relations tell the media what to aggressively expose and what make a big deal out of.

MDPD is full of pot smokers, mortgage fraud violators, insurance fraud violators and thieves that are assigned to a 40 hour workweek but actually but in 24 hours of work a week. The other 16 hours are spent on "personal business".

As far as having MDPD take over police services in Sweetwater goes, those poor citizens will really know what it is to be marginalized and ignored. MDPD has the worst police service response time of any dept in Miami-Dade.

08-23-2013, 10:00 PM
Then lets make a deal with the Feds and call Raul and Fidel Castro to lend Sweetwater PD 30 of their finest officers from La Policia Nacional Revolucionaria. Lol

MDPD, like every department, has its problems. However, they actually do police themselves, and enforce the laws/rules. MDPD is also 3500 strong, and still short on personnel, while Sweetwater is about 40 (not really sure, but that sounds about right). Of those, half of you are reserves. SPD is a ridiculous joke. The first poster said it right. Most SPD guys can't get a job elsewhere, and that is a fact. Yes, MDPD may have some bad people, but the good way outnumber the bad; SPD has shady, followed by slightly less shady, followed by bad. The main difference is that SPD does a piss-poor job at internal affairs. Let us also not forget that SPD had its very own serial murderer within its ranks. That worthless badge-betraying punk was finally killed. He died like a man, but he betrayed the badge.

Betrayed the badge but he stuck to killing his own kind... Scumbag drug dealers.
