For many years we have sat and watched the unbelievable nonsense that takes place in this department. Many officers became aware of LEOAFFAIRS years ago, but it always boggled our minds that for some reason the KWPD, a department, the only ever in history that has been labeled a criminal organization under the Federal RICO act, had escaped its spotlight. BUT NOT ANYMORE!
Our intentions on finally getting this page set up is not to trash the department, but rather give past and present officers the ability to voice their concerns without fear of retribution (as anyone who has worked for the department can attest to the fine art that the admin has this down to). In our time we have seen numerous witch hunts, fine officers run out of town because they were somehow perceived as a threat, criminal acts by members of the department covered up by admin, preferential treatment ordered by admin to select members of the community that had committed misdemeanors and felonies, NTA's and tickets mysteriously disappearing, admin tearing up reports and ordering officers to write them again reflecting a completely different version of events, questionable promotions based on officers sexual preference or sexual ties to certain admin, money drugs disappearing from evidence, supervisors ordering crimes downgraded so as not to reflect poorly on the UCR. An Internal Affairs Lt. conducting an "official" investigation while off duty, fall down drunk at a bar after he suspected someone was doing coke in the bathroom, completely making an ass of himself, only to get off with a letter, of which any other officer would have been fired. A chief who was promoted from Officer to Sgt to Captain then Chief after it was discovered he was fired from Monroe County for having sex with a minor in his official capacity. Promoted to Chief after being fired, lying on his application, and going uncharged for a felony, what a winner! The Chief after him loved to fire people and ran the department like a tyrant, only to be fired himself for Sexual Harassment. Jesus, the list could just go on and on. This is just what we could think of off the top of our heads while typing. And these things are common knowledge, the status quo if you may. Can you imagine what has gone undiscovered? We can honestly count on one hand the number of supervisors that were promoted that we can say earned their position, have good morals, and are true cops, the rest we just wonder WTF.
We were pleasantly surprised that within 24 hours, before we were even able to set up as a moderator, two postings already echoing what we have just mentioned. Hopefully a sign of more to come once word gets out.
Tell your friends, fellow Officers, Retired Officers, and Former Officers of this page. Maybe, just maybe it will put the fear of god into those doing wrong and make a change for the better. Whether it be to call someone out on the carpet, expose a wrong, or just generally vent, feel free to post away. But please remember the press can read this just as well as us officers can, so please keep it factual. Damn we bet Dennis Reeves Cooper would of had a field day with what is going to eventually show up on this page, and sadly the truth be known, if he had access to the truth instead of his fantasies before he folded, some real changes may have taken place many many years ago. Damn we hate to admit that.
