Later reports indicate he is a Uniformed Division Officer.

A USSS Spokesman says he is not assigned to Presidential Protection, which is a half-truth because he is obviously assigned to a check point for Presidential appearances.

At least he wasn't speeding

There was a time when a leo would not arrest another leo for something as innocuous as being drunk. Especially since simple public drunk isn't even a chargeable offense anymore. The officer had to wake up the guy so he could then charge him with being drunk and disorderly.

I don't know enough about the department to fault them all, but the arresting officer should be ashamed.

I don't think that is it. The new breed of cops doesn't seem to understand the concept of professional courtesy and the exercise of discretion that was the norm in the past.

A cop in the DC area was giving a USSS employee a traffic ticket, and excused himself by saying "Everyone around here has a badge."

Maryland state troopers routinely give speeding tickets to other law enforcement officers, particularly if they are from out of state.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers give speeding tickets to local officers who even work in the same jurisdiction with them!

It is a different world................ and not better for it.

While local LEO's might be inclined to "give a break" to other street cops, the word is out that they no longer regard Feds under Justice and DHS as their friends and who are not to be trusted. This has been told to me by more than one who is on the street. As I retired Fed, I am now on the outside with those who have worked with me in the past and now view me with suspicion. They assure me that it not personal.
