View Full Version : Cuddeback REINSTATED

It's in. is reinstated. An unbiased, unknown person look at the facts and decided the city had no cause to terminate Curt. It will be interesting to see the spin from the Chief's office. Maybe more roll call participation by the will convince the troops that spending dollars of the tax payers money to terminate was worth it.

This is the beginning of the end.

Guess you missed the 17 week suspension in the ruling

Amazing how fast it's all coming apart.

Cud termination was reduced to a 16 week suspension, that 4 months. This is hardly a vindication. They believed the witnesses and the Cities case he (the arbitrator) just felt the punishment was too harsh.

It is typical of everything around here. The overreaches at all costs. Look at the incident involving personnel who had charges filed on them for running a tag. Overreaching goes to lack of executive temperament. I would like to know who investigated this debacle and every other discipline debacle.

When have you ever seen a 4 month suspension, he was lucky the arbitrator felt sorry for him, the city obviously proved it case, a differnt arbitrator and it might not have gone in his favor. He is VERY VERY lucky.

The arbitrator says that the City should not of fired him, he should of been suspended. The City should of seen this coming.

The city proved its case? You apparently have Fdle on your resume. They fired him and he now has his job back, the city won? God I hope you are not a cop.

Guilty as charged, the city proved their case. The sentence was found too severe, just like in the criminal courts. At the end of the day he was found guilty, negligent whatever term you like.

In addition, the testimony of the grievant himself supports the contentions of the city that he was guilty of these numerous rule violations.

It is without doubt that the grievant is responsible for his own conduct and it is
clear that he made several compounded poor judgments that led to
the allegations against him. He was a supervisor and he treated a
subordinate in a wholly inappropriate manner and he undertook
personal errands and visitations of friends, when he assigned himself
on an out of town trip to the Explorer Conference. He made similar
poor judgment decisions by not promptly reporting the loss of his
credentials and also leaving his credentials in his personal vehicle when
he entrusted it to a friend. Additionally, he waited to long to act on an
assignment directly from the Chief of Police pertaining to eligibility
for an award for the department.

EQUALS A 17 WEEK SUSPENSION

From the award, "I think the failure here happened.

The arbitrator ruled that he hadn't seen and IA report prior to this where the investigator didn't take sworn statements.

So the and the were in over their head on this and the City Manager let it happen.

Thankfully the PBA was there to protect and other members of the PBA.
