its funny how if anyone supports merging with SO then they must have to work for SO. noooooobody from hollywood pd would ever want to go BSO. everybody likes the pay cut. police work is police work. the good cops, the bad cops, the corrupt, the honest, the slugs, the proactive and so on. EVERY PD has these type of cops so arguing not to go with one agency because the have one of the mentioned above is pure stupidity. not like its really up to the officers anyway but why wouldnt u want to be apart of a big agency. the freedom to move around and operate on a county level is great. new doors open. specialized units, promotions, district transfers, different places to work details, etc. there really isnt a good arguement not to go with SO. its always the same whining. "BSO is corrupt", "Hollywoods reputation" and blah blah blah.

If you want to go to BSO so bad then drive to Broward Boulevard, ask for the Personnel Office and put your application in.

Probably 50% of Hollywood Officers would not pass the background or psych to be accepted by BSO even if they were to apply. The ethics (or lack thereof) would come back to bite you in these tough times.

I don't know about that one. I heard that BSO had higher standards and that both officers and fire rescue employees had to go through the background check again. That resulted in some of them not passing and thus let go.
