The city of Sunny Isles Beach and the police department are currently in contract negotiations. The city is playing hardball with their so called "offer" to the officers. They need to realize it was their fault the officers went union. They allowed Rick Conners to screw all employees, sworn and not sworn. They should be greatful as hell for the work the officers do that make them look so good. We cannot show any signs of weakness to the city. We chose union and we need to remain strong and united. Keep the faith my fellow officers. We shall prevail!

In these times common sense prevails without giving up the ship!

Had PBA done what the officers wanted, we wouldn't be in this situation. This fiasco has dragged on long enough. The city would of given us what we had plus a bit more. The offer from PBA was a slap in the face to the city. Not to mention that our rep also tried to hide it from us. True, Connors did want to screw us, but he did get fired and we were in the drivers seat for a decent contract. Had this gotten done a few months ago like it was supposed to, we wouldn't of even felt the contribution to FRS today. Even without a City Manager, the city would of signed a fair deal for us. The more we wait, the more this will cost us. PBA needs to step up and mend fences with the city. They need to get this done. They owe it to the cops. Maybe if our uniforms were brown, this would be different.
