the truth is the anex area was good fort he city and the current residents. The taxes on those warhouses and the mall, gave the residents an opportunity to have lower taxes!

We all have the right to live where we want, so with that being said; if yur a resident your more then welcome to stay in this beautiful city, but if you dont like so much then im sure there are other city's that would be glad to have your tax money.

How can going from only paying a County tax to paying both county and municipal taxes be a tax decrease???
Also, now the business owners not only have to have a county occupational license but also an occupational license from Sweetwater.
Sweetwater, ofcourse, will be able to adjust the permit costs to their liking.
As for the "ordinary" citizens, they are now paying for services they won't receive from the county, as well as the services they will be paying for from Sweetwater.
The only reason this went through for SW and not the other 4 municipalities is the one ringer SW has on the commission. The others were allowed to die so that this one annexation could go through. Once again, partisan politics at its best.

I worked with a former civilian employee of theirs that told me they used to tell the dispatcher to go take a brake outside. When that dispatcher came back in from the brake, the prisoner had an unexplained black eye or bloody mouth... Explanation he fell.
