Don't forget to show up to the PBA meeting on Tuesday at the Mullen center. I am personally sick of hearing they want concession when they are spending almost 10 million to build a new aquatic center and fleet maint garage. Yes, remember this when they take your laptops away because they dont want to pay for the air cards or replace the outdated stuff. This is insane!!!!!!

Better to deal with losing some line items, then deal with a loss of job.
Lets not for get the new item in our current contract.
"Last hired, first fired."

Venice is doing the same.

The City can afford a lot of things. They can afford a police department at a time when crime is starting to spiral out of control and our client list is growing expotenially. like the attorney stated "If you give it up, you'll never get it back" It's easy for the people making $70-90,000 a year to say "Oh yeah, we can afford to give up a holiday for absolutely nothing in return...no big deal." but I promise you if it was 10 years ago when they were on the road they would have fought tooth and nail to keep everything. Remember who needs this and who doesn't...and the people representing you or offering you advice probably don't need it as bad as the rest of us line level guys.

They will not cut positions. We wouldn't be doing backgrounds or have people in hiring if we thought we were gonna cut them. The road is at minimum almost daily (Whether due to attrition or poor scheduling is another issue). We are one or two more major crimes away from being maxxed out. Let's not give up anything if we don't absolutely have to. Good of the whole union, not what's good for 8-10 people.

Let's cut the Admin's pay by $20,000 each to cover the shortfalls.
