Simple Quick Question

Ladies and Gentleman,

I hope this does not stir up anything unnecessary...just a simple question...

What is your department's take home car policy..?

Would like to know before I submit my application and HR didn't seem to know for sure....

For what it's worth I've only heard great things about your agency....

Deputies who live inside the county are allowed to take their cars home and use them for personal use. Deputies living even a 1/4 mile outside the county are not allowed to take their cars home, and it isn't something that is going to change because about half of the agency lives in the surrounding counties and have been fighting it for years with not even a budge.

Is Sumter SO hiring right now? I am a LEO w/ 13 years of experience and have recently moved back to Hernando County. Can anyone give me some info on the department? Thanks.

Yes we are always hiring. Go to our website sumtercountysheriff.org. The pay is what is listed there and there is no pay for experience everyone starts at the bottom. A bunch of good guys working here, but the good ole boy system is alive and well
