I worked with Bill Chavers for a brief period of time before he departed the Pensacola Police Department. He was always a hard charger then, and knew police work and the city well. I haven't kept up with him since he left PPD, but as a PPD alumnus he'll get some $$ from me for his run.

I worked for some really good leaders at PPD while I was there and always wondered why more didn't take a run for the office of elected sheriff.
