Maybe this is why they have to advertise for the position of "acting sgt", I mean, no one can step up to the plate? No one has been mentored? No one has been trained to step in??? This is pathetic. I can't believe a city has to advertise for a sgt's position, let alone the Lt's position but this is just sad.

The Town of Golden Beach is a beautiful barrier island community located on the Atlantic Ocean in far northeast Miami-Dade County. Golden Beach is seeking a law enforcement professional to serve as an Acting Sergeant in the Police Department. Applicants MUST POSSESS: current Florida Police Officer certification, a valid Florida Driver's License, and at least three years of experience as a law enforcement supervisor (typically Sergeant). The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to community policing and being part of a small and committed Town management team.

"What you should also now"....Our wonderful FOP President(and i use the term loosely) has taken it upon herself to raise monies (as the FOP President), for a former individual (just cant use Officer) who has stolen and defrauded GB and is pending a trial of ten FELONY charges including GRAND THEFT and fraud (public record)(can you say unethical or inappropriate)There is absolutly NO justification for this action, 1.This was done via her blackberry 2.She was on duty(Task Force) 3.This conflicts everything written in The Code of Ethics...mabey we need a refresher course on this topic. If you are an individual participating in this fund raiser you too should read up on 'The Code" She should be disiplined for this action and removed immediatly. What do YOU stand for?! What has the FOP done for any Union Member?, offer negative feed back regarding the current issues occurring within OUR UNION! Its going to be hard to defend his actions when he and others admitted wrong doings to several agencies! A crooked cop is a crooked cop.. also those that continue to support crooked cops speak volumes of who they are and their ethics. Crooked cops are an embaressment to all of the honest hard working cops who take this job seriously! She needs to cut her ties and move on... or should we be looking at her ?
