Cheif Tommy Magill will be missed. He was a good man who did the best job he knew how. Today is a sad day for the Hallendale Police Department.

I worked with Tommy and was on his squad when he became a Sgt. Quite a few memories of back in the day. Kind of makes you think what really is important in life. RIP Tommy, see you on the other side one day.

R.I.P. My Chief.

I was not only a close friend of the family but he assisted me in getting into the police academy. The PD and the world lost a great man. No one will ever be able to fill his "shoes"!

Police Officer's Prayer to St. Michael

Saint Michael, heaven's glorious commissioner of police,
who once so neatly and successfully cleared God's premises
of all its undesirables, look with kindly and professional
eyes on your earthly force.

Give us cool heads, stout hearts, and uncanny flair for
investigation and wise judgement.

Make us the terror of burglars, the friend of children and
law-abiding citizens, kind to strangers, polite to bores,
strict with law-breakers and impervious to temptations.

You know, Saint Michael, from your own experiences
with the devil that the police officer's lot on earth is not
always a happy one; but your sense of duty that so
pleased God, your hard knocks that so surprised the
devil, and your angelic self-control give us inspiration.

And when we lay down our night sticks, enroll us in your
heavenly force, where we will be as proud to guard the
throne of God as we have been to guard the city of all
the people. Amen.

Prayers continue for family and friends, Robin V. (retired Sergeant HBPD)

I've got to hand it to you guys. It's nice to see a chief that was really admired by his officers and his death was a loss to your PD. I retired several years back after doing 30 years in Broward County LE. In most departments folks would use this forum to say they were glad so and so, died. I didn't know Tom but I know several who did and had nothing but praise for him. I hope your next Chief will follow in Tom's footsteps. Take care folks, be safe and God bless you all.

Tell that to the brass who were selling themselves to the commissioners at his wake...We have no class at this P.D.

The service was good. Tommy was respected by the community and he will be missed by his friends and family.
