Hillsborough Commissioner Kevin Beckner today introduced an initiative to help the families or named beneficiary of all fallen first responders in Hillsborough County (City of Tampa, Plant City, Fire, Paramedics, etc...) they will be eligible for a one time payout of $100,000 from the County to help with the immediate needs of those left behind. We hope we never have to see those funds, but we know we live in a dangerous world.
The matter will be discussed at the 2nd meeting in August if you want to show up and show support for the initiative. Employees will also be able to donate through payroll deduction any amount they deem, to the fund.
