It's amazing how the star banner does a follow up article to the recent study done, and the reporter doesn't even recognize that the issue of morale again wasn't addressed by these two men running are department other than by saying..."there's no moral issue". The chief says he's out on Wednesdays and attends regular briefings......bovine crap! Star Banner wake up, come talk to real cops and ask whats going on.
Chief Williams has no drive to make this a better place and city council knows this, DC Smith has never been a motivator, so it's in his blood I guess not to give a shit! Apparently when asked about the morale issue, the chief said it's the unions fault, that they are holding morale back.....really? When did the union ever say "hey don't give out the accommodation letter, don't you dare boost the moral of your officers". That's right never.
Maybe if this administration would make things easier on the troops, and show outward support, the troops would do things with out being given a quota.. like we have for traffic contacts.
