View Full Version : Be Positive

C'mon everyone. Remember years ago, the agility, TABE, swim, etc? Your dream job? Your Law Enforcement job. Your job that you once looked at and dreamed of doing and being proud of. It's still here. You're still doing it. Stop sweating every little detail about what doesn't really concern you. Unless you were in the top of the list that got passed up, you have no weight in your complaint. That's their fight. Worry about yourself, your team, and what your specific Law Enforcement function is. We make great money for what we do, compared to other departments.
As far as the  Union  is concerned, post here, but also get with your team, who can then get with others in the Department, and force them to act. Thats why you pay them.

Monty Python's quote, " Always look on the bright side"...nice City, good pay, good equipment, take-homes, step plan, top out at 10 years, etc.

How can we be positive when their are more people in charge then people doing the work? Be positive when politics runs the department, you need to get real!!!

Both statments are true!

I have heard of people joining the FOP. They have better Lawyers to help you if there is a legal action. I think I may join to. Anybody know of a contact number? Maybe after this contract it will be time for a change. Be SAFE!!

The "poster" about the FOP is probably right. The majority hasn't been represented in years, and even worse, they appear to be "puppet reps" runs br R.S>. The Chief is new and smart. Let's ee what his plans are. But as far as the Union, time to stand up for us instead of being moles for the City and pandering. But
WE ALL NEED TO STAND TOGETHER. They have divided us for too long, with reps that push it on us so that we all behave. This City is one of the few that is financially sound. Our salaries do not make or break anything. Maybe they will now, now that we have 7 Lt's, 10 Sgt's, 2 Capt's, soon-to-be Deputy Chief.

Everyone need to remember that a majority of us gave back 1.5% COLA this year. It was to appease the City, and white collar workers as they did not get a COLA. We didn't have to. Do not let them forget, anddo not let them turn it around on us next contract. They asked, we gave. Now its our turn to ask. F-the striping, F- the Glocks. Money now (or at least lower health insurance) and a stable pension. We din't get into this job to get rich, as half of us have degrees, but you should expect to be compensated fairly for what we do where others are too scared to do. And we should expect to be taken care of, so long as we survive this job for 25 years.

Confiscated funds cannot be used for pay. But to make some moral changes the Chief thought some new stripping would help. Guess some people are greedy. I also heard that the PBA fight in Tally on the 2% to 3% on the bye back passed the House. Stop being a baby, your still the highest paid! Gezzz
