Sheriff's Election

Although it is very early we need to consider some issues just over the hill. Sheriff Hall is very certain to run again and that means more of the same old lies. When he was elected he said he would rid the administration of those who rode the coat tails of the previous sheriffs. On the contrary he promoted all of them inlcuding his #2 guy. He doesnt have the balls to take his gripe to the governor with regards to the constant bull from the CC's. They refuse to broaden their horizons and seek funding for us and at the same time tell everyone "I thinks" and "I believes" instead of "we will.." They need to go for sure but this is about the sheriff. It is his responsibility to broaden his horizons and seek funding. Will he do that? No he's too worried about how he looks in front of a mirror or taking care of his campaign funders. He's concerned he will lose the next election if he does that so he wont. Another year of no raises or new cars? How about another 4-year term of it? It's going to happen because even though we know the truth on how he really is, the public thinks he's the best thing since sliced bread. They don't know about how he has used his position for personal gain or even how he showed up drunk when an officer was shot. We can call him an A$$hole all we want but it's not the point here. He is all about Wendell Hall. Not us. Instead of being constructive or actively working to improve he's worried about that vote. So whoever runs against Bob Cole, Gordon Goodin and Don Salter, vote for them no doubt. But think now that a campaign against Wendell Hall will need to be waged.

We all know there's more going on with Sheriff Hall that even we already know. He does not have my vote next time.

I received a email from the state FOP about the new legislation that they are trying to put through. If the sheriff is here today he is not with the other sheriff's trying to get the overall power over our contract. If he isn't here then he must be with all the other one's. For the defender's of the admin this might not be bad now but what kind of sheriff might we get next time?

The hope is we get a new sheriff that will not only listen to our concerns but not lie to our faces. The only way to see him is to make an appointment, in his office. When you are in there for 5 mins and he has to go to some luncheon or whatever, you dont mean anything to him. He does not care abut us. The main post is correct. He's after that vote. It would not be a shock if he does have stuff going on we don't know about. He's after 3 things, money, power, and himself.

My family support Hall the last two elections. We are already actively campaigning for Chris Roper. At least he will sit and talk to the deputies and citizens. I've attempted to talk to Hall. He is more interested in his shoe and what is happening in the parking lot. I just got up and walked out. I hope Hall enjoys his time off so he can do whomever.... I'm sorry, I meant whatever, he pleases. The county deserves someone in office with not only the county's best interests but also the deputies' best interests at heart.

I am a citizen of this great county, my past work experience has been in the corporate world. I am retired and have many years of experience in leadership, people and relationships. I have read about the use of Sheriff's Office computers to view porn by employees who were on duty. I have always taught my kids and grand kids to respect law enforcement and never thought I would read about this type of unethical behavior from people who are suppose to uphold the law. The punishment should have been more severe based on the fact they were supervisors and law enforcement personnel. You cannot expect subordinates to take direction from leaders who did not follow a code of ethics and lowered their standards to the very behavior expected from the persons they arrest or protect us from. Once this type of behavior is deemed acceptable, you have lost the respect of your subordinates. They did receive disciplinary action in this incident, but they lost more than that, they have lost their ability to supervise their employees. To leave them in supervisory positions is a slap in the face to the employees who follow the rules and abide by a code of ethics. I wonder how the female personnel feel about their male leaders viewing porn while on duty. They can never gain back what they have lost due to their own choices and should not be in a leadership role.

The whole porn thing was not swept under the carpet. Everyone involved was disciplined ...you or I might not agree with what they received, but it doesn't matter because they have been punished. So, that being said....leave it alone.

The problem isn't the sheriff, however he has allowed his administration to sit back and do nothing.... Literally!!! We have a Sgt that was banging some Tom Thumb clerk all over Milton and he's still a sgt. I don't hear anything about him being mentioned and he suck as a supervisor and can't be trusted as a person. Seems that he is being very outspoken about Roper so that's probably why nothing has been mentioned about Gump. How about the other Sgt that lied in not 1 but 2 IA's. he's no longer a sgt, but now has weekends off to make some extra side job cash.

We have a lot of F'ed up people here, but keeping the porn crap going is only hurting the ones that have already been punished and their families. It doesn't matter to the admin nor will it make a difference in the votes. It has lost a few voter for roper due to his retalitive plans on the ones that have been punished. Enough voters and families to make a difference. Too bad because he had some good ideas.
