Can any one tell me what the deal is with our overtime?

we might be in better shape after the merge with FHP.... who knows though.

They have a post on FHP's board from an article in Tally where the legislature is at it again. They are now talking about pay cuts on top of making us contribute to our own retirement among other cuts. We already make enough to nearly qualify for food stamps, have had zero raise in five years and they want to do this now. That will probably cut your already pathetic take home pay almost in half with all the cuts they are proposing. If that goes through, I have a feeling FHP and all the other state agencies will have alot of openings.

Please go read it and keep in mind while you are reading it that all of our elected state reps and senators are all millionaires.

Cadet Highway Patrolman (16 weeks in academy)
$33,192.00/year $2,766.00/month
Probationary Highway Patrolman (after academy through probation period)
$35,514.00/year $2,959.50/month plus $100.00/month uniform allowance
Highway Patrol Officer Step 1
$38,000.00/year $3166.66/month
(plus $50.00/month shift differential and $150.00/month uniform allowance)
Oklahoma Highway Patrol Officers are on a 7 step pay increase (1 step per year of
service to a maximum of 7 years or 7 steps)
Step 1 $38,000.00 (1st year)
Step 2 $40,660.00 (2nd year)
Step 3 $43,506.00 (3rd year)
Step 4 $46,552.00 (4th year)
Step 5 $49,810.00 (5th year)
