Why is the PBA not using the incident from Atlantic High School to get us some manpower at these schools? The incident wasnt even mentioned anywhere.

Can you tell us about the incident? Was it the fotabll game that get out of control? Or something new. We are mushrooms here.

The reason no ne heard about it is that the District wants to maintain the illusion that everything is safe in the schools and that nothing happens. Other departments issue press releases about incidents in their jurisdictions. Press releases about what happens in the schools would destroy that illusion and maybe create a public demand for additional staffing. Look at the stuff that is in the Post's Metro Report and whatever community rag is is in your area. We do stuff that exceeds what is in there, however the District's PIO's motto is "Silence is Golden."

Email your ASSOCIATION Reps, so they can do nothing about it.

WAAAAAAAAA!! WAAAAAAA!! WAAAAAAA!! BOOHOO BOOHOO. The reason nobody gives a sheet about what happened is because you beaches cry about every bullspit incident. Now we have something that is worthy of attention but it will only be perceived as more crying by the police. Learn to pick your battles and when to air a grievance and maybe when something like this happens people would pay attention. Until then it's just more of WAAAAAA WAAAA WAAAAA. Woe is me.

It seems as though the administration is content with the current man power allocations because they are sitting behind a desk at the DAC.....while we put up with the BS of not having someone to work with. Wait till the day at one of these 1 man high schools, when there is a fight that causes 2000 or more kids to go bonkers and the 1 man school cop gets pounced on because no one is watching his back.. And I keep hearing that the Broward Schools have cut back to 1 man high schools. But they usually have security specialist they pay as a back up for the SRO......where is our back up ( hall Monitors). I can't believe we went from 3 man high schools to 1 man schools in less then 4 years.. Where is that grant money....check is in the mail I guess

Broward does have a security specialist (requires a minimum of four years LEO experience-usually are retired cops) at every school. Broward also has security monitors, usually several, at every school. The big difference between PBC's campus monitors and Broward's security monitors is that Broward's are expected to assist in restraint and control. PBC's are not supposed to get involved in fights, etc. The security specialist job pays about 40K a year and the monitors about 25K, plus they can get OT at proms, games, etc.
