It may be time for an IG investigation into nepotism within this department. We have more and more "kin folk" getting hired here everyday. Especially in Region 1 and 2. There are some conflicts of interest at work also. Number 1,the person in charge of inputting our time and leave should not be doing her husband's or brothers' time and leave. There is some funny things going on there. Number 2, both Cpt's have close kin working here, one Lt has close kin also. We have fathers and sons, brothers, sisters, husbands and wives,, cousins, uncles and nephews. It is getting crazy almost like a family reunion. How can we expect folks to be honest when someone covers up for someone else's family so that that person will cover for their's? Or we have family covering for family? Who in our department to oversees this? I think there needs to be a new question on the application or interview board, "Are you kin to anybody working in this department?". It is time to do something before it is to late. How can we expect to maintain the integrity of the department with so much kin working together?

If you feel that laws are broken,file the complaint. Otherwise stop your crying and get back in that window. We got trucks to check and floors to mop.

I feel that the guest has a valid point to some degree. If the person in charge of time has to input those folks maybe he or she needs to excuse himself or herself from putting that time in and his or her supervisor needs to recognize that and take it upon himself to take that responsiblity away from himself or herself.
As for hiring family, what is so wrong with that, aren't you proud of where you work and want your family to be a part of something that is feeding them? In this tiny area, where are they suppose to go to the Prison? Guess what there is family there, Oxy? everyone and their family works there. Look around DOT family, FHP family...Whoever you are we do not live in a "Big City" and there isn't a huge amount of options here for employment.
I would want my kids to follow in some sort of LEO be it here or somewhere else. Think about it it is probably how you got your job if you trace it back someone knew someone!
In those positions of authority those people need to excuse themselves from review boards and other and bring in someone from another district.
I have an idea, why not have an interview board that is made up of a citizen, an LEO from another agency and another representative from this agency. Now that would be fair hiring practices.
Complain, and grieve that is your only option or call PBA, that is why you pay your hard earned money for.

You could always go to a law enforcement agency with competent people that doesn't do such things.


Or you can continue to work with the other Cabbage Cops....

sounds like you're mad from being passed over all those years. Maybe its your work ethics or the fact that your just worthless.

Don't complain, just leave.

..and the beast in question rears it's ugly head. Point proven, the "clan" has come out to protect it's own. Name calling, put downs, and being told to leave if you do not like the family reunion they have going on. Thanks you have just proven why this department will evolve no further than what it is. The problem of nepotism in this department causes the same problems that inbreeding causes, no new genetic material in the gene pool causes it to stagnate and regress. That is exactly what is happening here. We are going backwards from the progress we have made in the past 5 years. The "clan" we have going here reminds me of the "klan", speak against it or do not play the game and get a cross burnt in your yard. Do I hear banjos? Why do they want me to squeal like a pig????

having family working here isn't necessarily a bad thing for the day to day routine.
will it make things like promotions unfair? we will have to wait and see.

Is time actullay begin deducted at the end on the folks, or is it beign padded to their good. Is brass giving preferential tratment to his kin folks in any way shape or form. If these things are happening. Then you have the right to file on it. If you nuts are big enough to follow through with it. A capt that never works and a lt that barely show his face. Check the milage on the issued vehicles they drive, public records request. seems funny both have new offices and never use them. How about the gal that continues to stir the pot and go a side station. thus is a bomb that will explode because they are scared to deal with real issues that effect everyone working with person. Fire that butt would be suffient. Pretty easy to come up with a hand full of detail reports on wrong doings by this officer.

Why does it always have to be a GAL?is it because the Gal's in this department are so few that when something is wrong they are blamed first? Look around there is wrong doing at everyturn by what you are posting and your standards. Stop looking for someone to make miserable and go find you somewhere else to bring your poison to. If there is wrong doing it will come to surface, over time. You can gripe and complain on this site that is fine but when you start calling people out start identifying yourself so that you can be dealt with like a human not a scared little ramp __tch... :evil: The rest of us are "grown up" and do not need your crap!

What's the matter? Was she immune to your sexual advances so now she is an incompentent b!t(h? Seems you are the one stirring the pot.

You know, why doesnt someone in PBA ask about all the pay raises that our new LC and the Colonel gave out in the Rhodes building. Hey we do get a forklift to carry their lard asses brass around.
