Job Search

I am looking for a criminal justice career, I just finished the academy and I have a degree in criminal justice. I put myself through the academy. I don't particularly care about starting salary or how busy your city may be, I am more concerned about retirement benefits. How long is your hiring process? Can anyone help me with this info?

good benefits, hiring could take 3 months and yes we are a very busy city starting pay approx. 52,000 in 10/09
