MONTROSE — A Montrose officer was killed and two more were wounded last night, after responding to a domestic violence call.

Montrose Police Chief Tom Chinn said Sgt. David Kinterknecht was fatally wounded by a man who had barricaded himself in a garage behind a home at 16915 64.50 Road. The man also reportedly shot and injured two more officers, Larry Witte and Rodney Ragsdale, both of whom remain hospitalized this morning.

The suspect was killed at the scene; Chinn said it had not yet been determined whether the man shot himself or was killed by police and sheriff's deputies.
