FRS

Hello Folks,


The city of Miami Beach PD is considering on changing our retirement to the FRS system, and I was wondering if you guys can clarify a few issues for me.

1. No contribution, true or false?
2. Pay social security and what is the percentage?
3. Is off duty count toward your retirement?

You pay nothing out of pocket. As far as social security you still have whatever is deducted from your paycheck the same. Offduty is contractual on our retirement due to the fact that the dept collects from vendor and pays us afterwards. I still think you guys should stick with what you got you can't bet it.

I dont agree 0 contribution with 75% of your highest 5 beats out 10% contribution with 90% not to exceed the base of your supervisor. Do the math
