I met your Sgt. Weidenfeld not to long ago and I am convinced that the guy is a nut. All that the guy does is email on his phone. Does he have any line or tactical experience? Is he a guy with a padded resume? Bottom line he is not impressive by any means, he seems to just talk alot. Sorry for you guys and gals of Coral Gables PD.

There is no doubt that Sgt. Weidenfeld likes is his computer gadgets, but he happens to be a true professional who earned, cares, and has passion for his assignment. He consistently sends out training bulletins and shares anything he learns to make sure that officer safety is a first and foremost priority.

As is typical with most police blog entries, your comments were unecessary.

I guess Andy is answering for himself. Lets be honest In his career I can count one hand how many fights he has been in. But this is the guy teaching tactics. Never been in a shooting but carries himself as marksman. I don't know what is worst hearing him tell his ficional war stories or hearing Phil say his. I guess you get plenty of tacitical experience working code enforcement. No wonder this department sucks, these are the guys molding our departments future. Maybe he should be teaching traffic homicide investigation, I know he has experience with that. Oooops, no one is suppose to know about that.

Ironic we don't have money to send officers to the olympics or even for raises. But lets spend 1.50 per bullet on lemas rounds because Phil and Andy say we need it. In the last ten years we shot one guy and the officer missed. Who are we kidding!!!!!!

Andy and Phil have something you cry babies will never have, passion.

I came to this blog hoping to find some interesting conversation, but no such luck.

This is your measure of a good cop - you're an idiot.
And why is it that you think we care what you think? Shut the hell up.

Once again, the babies from the Coral Gables Police Department are crying. When was the last time one of you pussies was seriously injured or killed? It's been a very very long time. Maybe you can thank your training for that. Yes, sometimes training is a real pain in the ass and it might take you away from your newspaper that you are reading under a tree all day, but it probably is the main reason that you go home to your families every night. Too bad if you finally have to do something during your shift. You lazy ass cops should be thanking Andrew Weidenfeld not criticizing him. Unfortunately for him, he puts his job, like most dedicated officers, before his own personal life and family. Although a big mistake, because that department could care less and would leave him out in the cold if he messed up. Why dont you look at the real problem with your department, the senior staff and city hall. Those are the monkeys and thieves you should be directing your anger at. Not the guy who is training you to survive!!!

1. You are not a retired CGPD officer
2. No one wants to hear your tired old viagra popping ass talking all that shizzat
3. It ain't about you and your sermon from the great retirement village shuffleboard court

Wrong again rookie....I was probably doing this job while your momma was still wiping your ass. Its people like you, who talk out of your ass that makes the problems for the department. The ***** ass administration seems to bend over for cry babies like you who dont get their way. Why dont you just do your time, shut your mouth, and earn what you get. I started young and retired young but I had respect for senior officers. Learn it. It might help you in the long run.....rookie.

Oh my ... the great exalted retiree speaks
Listen gramps, people like you put us in the spot we are in with your greed and inability to do the right thing unless it benefited YOU. The men and women of this department have had to work hard to stand beyond the decrepit shadow you cast. Your'e retired? Then stay retired. Go read the AARP bulletin with your metemusil and leave the new breed to pick the ball up where you dropped it. Take your greedy, creaky Gran Torino ol butt back to the bar and wait for the sundown supper special. We didn't listen to you when you were here and we don't now.
