View Full Version : Wounded Coral Springs Officer Paul Kempinski

05-29-2009, 11:06 PM
On Saturday May 23, 2009, two suspects robbed an auto parts store in Coral Springs. After the incident, officers located the suspect vehicle and a pursuit ensued. Officers followed the vehicle until it crashed into a house and the suspects bailed out of the car.

One of the suspects began to run from the area and Ofc. Paul Kempinski took chase. During the foot pursuit, another suspect ambushed Ofc. Kempinski, firing at him with a fully automatic assault rifle. Ofc. Kempinski was struck multiple times in his arms, legs, and side and required emergency surgery.

The Coral Springs Police Department is forever grateful for the assistance and support provided by personnel from so many different law enforcement agencies. It was an awe inspiring site to see so many departments and agencies come together to provide assistance during our time of need.

Ofc. Kempinski remains in Intensive Care at the hospital with very serious injuries. A few weeks prior to this incident, Ofc. Kempinski bought a house with his fiancee, who he is marrying in less than a month. The house is a "fixer upper" and has significant repair and remodel necessary. With his injuries, Ofc. Kempinski will be unable to do any work at his home for many months.

A fund has been established to assist Ofc. Kempinski and his family with the upcoming expenses they are facing during his physical rehabilitation. It is easy to donate even just a few dollars by following the link posted below.

Rest assured that 100% of all funds collected will be given to Ofc. Paul Kempinski and his family. If you are able to give or know someone who can please pass this link along to them.

Thank you once again for all of your continued support.

Stay Safe.
