Change but no change
This Department is one of the best hidden treasures in law enforcement. We have the opportunity to do things other law enforcement agencies wish they could do, but what makes this job more difficult is HQ. When the Colonel came aboard he gave a long list of all of his jobs and accomplishments. The speech to me was more political than meaningful. He assured we will be well equipped and well trained than any other agencies. Well for me it was a smoke screen as normal, it’s the same song with a different singer. Nothing has changed, we all know that the department can not do anything with the pay but do something with the off duty. Why Troopers get to work construction zones, escorts and rest areas but for us it’s a conflict of interest issue.
I feel that could be resolve with the attorney and Big Dot. If you can’t get us money, well let’s change our image and look. Let’s get rid of the smurf colors and get some colors that reflect our department along with a new logo and badge. FWC did it, so why not us. Let get rid of the shot guns and get rifles (AR 15’s) the weapon of choice that our enemies uses. The lip service is really getting old, it’s always been what we are going to do but we find ourselves right back where we started, nowhere. The LTC did his rounds of speeches as well, I’ll see in time if he is another politician as well. The moral is low and it seem to me no one really care about the officers except the officers, also supervisor need to leave the officers along because we are doing more than what we are getting paid for.
